In August 2026, the Netherlands will take center stage in the world of sport as the global rowing elite gathers for the Staatsloterij World Rowing Championships. More than 1,200 athletes from dozens of countries will compete for world titles on the water. From explosive sprints to tactical finals, every race demands perfect timing, strength, and teamwork. The competition takes place at the iconic Bosbaan, where a week of excitement, speed, and international rivalry unfolds. Event Schedule
The 2026 World Rowing Championships will take place from August 24 to 30, 2026, and span seven thrilling days of top-level competition. Across the week, world titles will be contested in both Olympic and non-Olympic classes, including para-rowing events. The regatta will feature heats, repechages, semifinals, and finals, building towards an action-packed weekend with the A-finals—where medals and glory are on the line. With over 1,200 athletes from more than sixty countries, every race promises intensity, precision, and passion on the historic Bosbaan.

Two Regatta Directors
For the first time in the history of the World Rowing Championships, a dual regatta directorship is at the helm. Olympic champion Ilse Paulis and double Olympic champion Nico Rienks are combining their experience and passion for the sport to make the 2026 World Rowing Championships at the Bosbaan an unforgettable event.
