From Olympic glory to a first-ever stroke on the Bosbaan: in the summer of 2026, Amsterdam becomes the beating heart of international rowing. From August 24 to 30, the world’s best gather in the Amsterdamse Bos for the 2026 World Rowing Championships. Over 1,200 para and elite athletes from more than sixty countries will compete for world titles—cheered on by a passionate home crowd, surrounded by nature and right next to the buzzing Zuidas. A unique blend of top-level sport, tradition, and global unity.

Between training sessions, Rik and Ralf Rienks spend every Sunday restoring an old Norwegian rescue boat in a shed near the Bosbaan. A true brothers’ project alongside their work in the pair without.
