Website and Ticket Shop for the Staatsloterij 2026 World Rowing Championships Open
One year to go: next August the 2026 World Rowing Championships will take place at the Bosbaan in the Amsterdamse Bos. Today, the official website and ticket shop have gone live, marking the official start of the run-up to the World Rowing Championships.
World Class, World Rowing – Welcome to Amsterdam.
In September 2022, during its congress, World Rowing decided to award the 2026 World Rowing and Para-Rowing Championships to Amsterdam. The bid, submitted by the KNRB, the Municipality of Amsterdam, Topsport Amsterdam, and TIG Sports & Events, convinced the international board. Just like in 2014, the historic Bosbaan will once again host a championship in August 2026, bringing together the world of top-level rowing in Amsterdam.

1,000 Tickets Sold in One Day
Today marks the official launch of the ticket shop, one day after exclusive early access was given to those who had pre-registered. The kick-off was a great success, with more than 1,000 tickets sold within just one day.
Paulis and Rienks at the Helm
The sporting leadership of the tournament lies in the hands of Olympic champions Ilse Paulis and Nico Rienks, who will serve as co-tournament directors.
Ilse Paulis:
“The Netherlands is a rowing nation of world-class caliber. This championship is an opportunity to showcase that once again—not only on the water, but also through the organization and spectator experience. It is special to help shape the preparations.”
Nico Rienks:

The Staatsloterij 2026 World Rowing Championships will take place from 24 to 30 August 2026 at the Bosbaan in Amsterdam. This will be the third time the global tournament is hosted at the Bosbaan, following earlier editions in 1977 and 2014. The event is organized by the KNRB, World Rowing, the Municipality of Amsterdam, and TIG Sports & Events.
